Whack and kena whack

Kind of left the office earlier today and followed KW to see one of our old acquaintances, during our active clubbing days.

He's a bouncer. Has moved around from club to club.

We has a chatted over a smoke. Out of curiosity we asked him what is the meaning of his name and why that name.

He explained, as-a-matter-of-factly:

Oh because I was bad when I was younger. I whacked people you know.

But there was once I kena whacked by 30 people.

I was wondering:

What the f*** did you do man?

He went:

I BURNT my girlfriend's car

Island hopping - Krabi

This is a little beach / lagoon within an island, accessible through a narrow gap between two rock formations. The water is clear and the surrounding is quiet and peaceful (until another tourist boat arrives, of course!) . Only accessible during high tide. The boat approaches the narrow entrance slowly. Once inside, you will be greeted by a crystal clear paradise. It's like someone just carved out a chunk of the island and turn it into a lagoon. It is just breathless.


Perfect for a little nap in the sun, wake up with a nice tan.

RARS's new toy

RARS, a Levi's 501 collector, came over by his new toy to donate me a couple of 501s . I think his collection has encroached into his wife's space for shoes and handbags.

This beast is mean. The rear wheel is bigger than the wheel of my sedan. And the sound could actually trigger off car alarms.

He asked me to test ride it. I politely decline, for the moment. It looks very intimidating. I still ride my sports bike occasionally to warm up the engine and recharge the battery, but this Harley beast is quite a different breed from what I am used to. 

By the way, the span between the 2 wheels is 9 feet.

Shoes from hell and tax inquiry

One of my buddies cannot stand Crocs. He just hates it and to him, whoever wear Crocs should be turned into human sacrifice, especially those who wear the shocking pinks and bright orange.

I saw this shop at Vivo, Harbor Front. This should be his HELL.

I spent half a day in Page One Books. Fantastic display of various topics. My main interest: design, architecture and interior. I ended up buying some. But, if I keep the receipt, since I bought the book in Singapore, can I deduct it from my Income Tax? Any tax experts out there?

Pura Update

I was in Pura again last week.


Managed to squeeze my time between the appointments and the airport to check out the progress of Pura restoration.

I am quite happy with the progress. All credits go to TITS for his endless passion and a lot of hard work he put into his baby.

The washroom, currently roofless. A roof will be built but part of the shower will be open. You like those in The Avillion water chalets.

Tiles are being installed underneath the houses. This are will be walled with sheets of glass with wooden frames. This is the future exhibition area. TITS exquisite songket collections will be featured here.

More flooring in progress, with terracotta tiles. To keep its natural and rustic look.

I do not know how to rotate this image (direct from my phone!). Curtains has been installed. i prefer the white sheer, 100% thin fine cotton. Natural and very romantic.

Pura, in the rain.. cats and dogs. I spotted, some gutters need to be fixed.. or changed.

By Q2 next year, Pura will be ready again for visitors to have their authentic Terengganu experience.

I stopped by the workshop and saw this beauty!

Unbelievable.

What a classic and it is still in running condition!

I wonder whether it is for sale.

The front FIAT grill is missing but, I think spare parts can be obtained if can be a bit resourcesful.

Overall body condition is excellent for a car built in 1966. Paint job (not original) is still good. I wonder whether I can bring back the shine by waxing. The floor (very vital part to observe on an old piece like this) is still good. Apparently the owner has restored the floor and gave the beauty another coat of paint job (pearl white) a couple of years ago.

I don't quite like the sports rim. I personally prefer the original rims with shiny chrome hubcap.

The engine is still in good running condition except for the water-pump bearing makes a bit of noise. Definitely need to be changed.

Interior is classic and simple. Still functional. Apart from FERRARI sticker, the is a black and white sticker that says "OFFICIAL MAFIA CAR"

Is there an opportunity here/

I think it's worth keeping.

Currently owned by an ex-policeman. He wants to keep the car but the wife is totally against it.

Apparently someone left RM1,000 to book the car but he has not come back for a couple of months to complete the purchase.

Hmmmm.. is there an opportunity here...

Secretly I hope the guy will not be able to complete the transaction.

I can't sleep already!

After the devastation in Iraq where more than a million Iraqi citizens have been killed, millions displaced as refugees in neighbouring countries, and the barbarity committed in Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay, one would have thought that war as an option to resolve international disputes would be rejected except as a last resort or in self-defence.

But war drums are beating loudly again and young men and women are being trained to wage another murderous war, this time against another hapless country, Iran. The alleged crime, for which the world’s citizens are called in to support, is that Iran is producing nuclear weapons.

They lied regarding the WMD in Iraq

Now, despite statements by the IAEA that there is no evidence of Iran embarking on any nuclear weapons programme, the war mongering nations are once again claiming otherwise and demanding this to be an excuse for war. Clearly they are lying again. Once again they want an excuse for going against another oil rich country which is also a Muslim country.

Israel has now called for the dismissal of El Baradei for reporting the truth about the current state of affairs in Iran. Britain’s Prime Minister has however issued a statement that Britain would support and lead in the war against Iran. President Bush and Vice-President Cheney are equally, if not more belligerent in calling for a war against Iran.

War is mass murder

It is uncivilised. Is the world going back to the age when disputes for honour were settled by duels in which the more proficient with weapons always had the upper hand? Are we to condone the mass killings of innocent civilians because of the folly and blood lust of their government leaders as was the case in World War I and World War II?

Let us not repeat a century of killings and mass murder by WMDs with another century of mass murders and the killings of the innocent.

Peace and peaceful resolutions of disputes must prevail

I therefore call upon all world leaders, secular and religious, to join me in this global effort to condemn wars and to promote the peaceful resolution of the present US / Iran dispute and all future international disputes.

God willing our efforts will succeed.

Hopelessness!

I was rushing for my appointment in Kuala Terengganu.

I know where things are but if you were to give me an address with the names of the road, I might not be able to find the place.

I have to go to GPB. The secretary called and told me that it is on Jalan Sultan Omar, in front of Padang Bola MPKT.

Yeah, like I know where that is.

I swung by a Petronas gas station, hoping to get directions from the pump attendant.


I went - BOSS, KAT MANA PADANG MPKT?

The attendant went - AHHHH... LIMA PULU KA PENU? (RM50 or full tank?)
