"Democracy is a good system, but it has its weaknesses. You must understand the workings of democracy to make it work. You know, there are limitations, and some people seem to think that if you go to war and make such-and-such country a democratic country [US in Iraq], you'll solve all their problems. It's the wrong thing to do. People must understand democracy before they accept democracy, because there is a limit to freedom. There is no absolute freedom to anyone"

Majestic view on March 16th 2012

One of the birthday treats I got this year is to tour KLCC, the tallest twin tower in the world, the sky bridge and the 86th floor of Tower 2.

Menara Kuala Lumpur is dwarfed.
The view is just amazing.
I posted it on Facebook, naturally. And caught significant attention form my friends, far and near.
I do not agree with everything Dr M did but KLCC, among others, is such a visionary development - an ability not any other Malaysia leaders’ have.

Nobody.
This is the pride of the nation.
A friend in Germany missed home when she saw this in Facebook.

I love Kuala Lumpur, I love Malaysia.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Projections from Obscura Digital on Vimeo.

During my trip to the Emirates recently, we were given a VIP tour of the mosque.

I have to say this is one of the most beautiful mosques I have been to.

Among the record breaking facts such as the biggest single piece of carpet and the biggest Swarovski chandelier, some of the craftsmen who built this mosques were the decedents of the craftsmen who built the Taj Mahal. And, super amazingly, the gold ornaments that top the minarets and domes were commissioned by Malaysian craftsmen.

One of the rare occasions I feel proud to be a Malaysian since Dr. M retired.
